Family Photos

Last month one our family friends came and took some photos of the family here around the house.  We had some really nice colors out with all of the leaves and we decided to get them done before all of the colors of fall had gone away.  Jeff was really nice to come over for free and take some shots.  It took me a little while to touch them up on photoshop.  I didn't do much to the photos as they were pretty good straight out of camera.  But a little photoshop was a good thing, especially for Kymbals hair, which was given a little of a hair cut.  All in all though they turned out good.

Alabama vs Texas ATM game

One of the perks Corey gets is to sometimes go and do some flyby's to big events.  One such event was the Alabama Crimson Tide (Roll Tide!) against the Texas A & M Aggies.  Corey was asked to control the jets from the ground perspective yesterday.  He would have much rather been in the jets however the jets were all filled up with other pilots.  In reality doing the ground control at the game is a better deal because you get to see the entire game and get some of the perks like going to the Box offices seats and hanging with the "Rich" people that can afford such luxuries.  Anyway one of the pilots spouses were there and took the video.  They flew over right at the end of the National Anthem.  Corey had some difficulty due to all of the changes in times and so forth and explains that once that jet has started his run in you can't stop it so, luckily he was able to convey those words to the pilots so they flew over right on cue!  Video below.  By the way our team Bama, lost.  We were ranked #1.

Fall...

One of our most favorite time of year is fall here in Mississippi.  The weather is so comfortable and the leaves all start changing color and that means the holidays are shortly behind.  Our yard has a lot of trees in them and so Corey likes to take photos of the trees when they start changing color.
We haven't been able to update the blog as often as we would like due to the extremely busy last couple of months.  We are still putting up our morning quotes for the kids.  We've got the photos and when the time allows we will post them.  As for the kids they have been busy with school, scouts, and soccer.  All 3 of the older kids have been playing and they all seem to love it.  We will post those pictures soon as well.  For right now however, we will post some of the fall photos.

Corey and the Girls

Last weekend the kids and Corey were playing in the front yard.  Amy decided to snap some photos of them wrestling.  It's been awhile since we've been able to play outside due to the intense heat and the humidity.  It makes for an unpleasant time getting all hot and sticky!  The past week has been so pleasant outside that we took the opportunity to enjoy it before the heat and humidity come back.  And come back we think it will.  Currently we look like we may get some of Hurricane Isaac.

Kymbal had a ball taking photo's with Corey.  It was really fun seeing her have a fun time with her daddy on the grass.  She is a very funny, charismatic little girl.

Last week's Inspirational phrases

We've tried to keep up on the inspirational phrases for the kids.  They seem to really like waking up in the morning and seeing what is on the board.  Devon does a really good job of explaining it to the girls if they don't know exactly what it means.

Motivational Kids Phrase of the day

We missed a day or two of the phrases.  One night Corey just plain forgot and the other night, we took a picture of it but forgot to put the data card into the camera.  Wouldn't you know it the camera doesn't remember the pictures you take without the thingy!  Things you learn!  Anyway the kids seem to be enjoying school thus far...and so is Amy.

Kymbal's first day of school

The other day was Kymbal's first day of school.  And like the other kids we had to take pictures to be fair and all, and because Kymbal was so excited to go be at school like her brother and sisters.  She was such a ham.  The only issue was when she came home, later on that night she told us, "I don't like school".  How does a kid know how to dislike school at such a young age!  Man we are going to be in trouble is she keeps up that attitude.  Today however she went back with no major hiccups.  The only issue today was on the way there Amy ran out of gas, and wouldn't you know it, it was pouring cats and dogs.  So she got a little wet, and when I say little, I mean there wasn't a dry spot on her.  At least it is almost the weekend.

yesterday's inspirational message.

First Day of School 2012

Today was a cause of celebration!  Yes, most of you know why!  Amy is free again to spread her wings and fly.  Most importantly she now doesn't have to tend to 3 bored kids during the day any more.  The kids all woke up around 530 or earlier.  Man, you would have thought that it was Christmas morning around our house.  Seriously!!!  Anyway getting ready went off without a hitch.  Below are the pictures of the kids prior to the bus getting here.

Tomorrow is Kymbal's turn.  She will be going on Tuesday's and Thursdays.  Amy has a smile from ear to ear!

We also started something new.  I'm not sure how long we will be able to keep it up but we have 2 big chalkboards in the kitchen and hall way that the kids love to write on.  We are going to try and leave a message every night for them so when they wake up in the morning they have something to look forward to other than riding the boring bus and going to boring school.  Again, not sure how long we will keep it up but we thought we would give it a whirl.

Summer's Night Thunderstorm

A couple of weeks ago we were both sitting on the back porch and looking at a thunderstorm that was over Tuscaloosa.  It was pretty active and made for a great light show at night.  Corey took the camera out and snapped a couple of really good photos.  He did a lot of experimenting with the settings and such.  Anyway below are some of the pictures he caught.
