IWO JIMA

Well if you haven't heard by now, Corey's jets have been grounded and there is no end in sight. They have been down since the beginning of November. The squadron hasn't been doing much lately until today. They planned a day trip to Iwo Jima. It's an island made famous during the Pacific Campaign during WWII. The Marines took control of it after a fierce battle with the Japanese. Corey spent the day there and had a good time. He climbed Mt. Suribachi and took some photos from the top, however none more famous the Mr. Joe Rosenthal that took the famous picture on Mt Suribachi of the Marines raising the American Flag. He got a little sun burned but got some good pictures of a place were not too many people get to visit.
