This is usually Amy's blog, however there were some significant events that were left out because, "Oh my Gosh", Amy was able to do some shopping at Gap! So I'm having to fill in some details. So we started the day off going to the Sony store. For the guys, way cool! I could have spent some quality time there. Lots of good stuff. We then left there and happened upon a Gap, where several wads of cash later we emerged, Amy now happy and in a world of her own. Please keep this point in mind. After the Gap, the kids were hungry, so we wanted to get some lunch. Of course we are in Tokyo so what better than to get some American cuisine. We asked around and found out there was a TGI Friday's. Amy, still in a world of her own asked some strangers on the street, how to get there. She was surprised that the local Japanese didn't really now where the train station was. We got some directions and Amy said "Arigato" to thank them for their help. We walked for about 1 minute, within visual range from where we got the directions and knew we were already lost, but lo, there were the same people. Amy started some small talk with them and let them know we were from Okinawa and weren't used to all the big cities. After saying that, they told us they weren't from here either, but from Taiwan. As we parted ways with our offened neighbors, Amy looked at me and said she felt like a "Donkey" and I asked "why because you just insulted the Taiwanese?" Yes, Amy insulted them, but dang it, we had a hard time telling the difference. A train ride later and another 10 minute walk we found TGI Friday's were we then paid $17 for a substandard world class burger, $5 Cokes and free animal balloons for the kids. Devon was smart and opted for the $6.50 Big Mac at Micky D's. After all that excitement we took a train back home and after another 20 minute walk, we found the hotel and found an activity the kids have been wanting to do. Swim! If I only knew that at the beginning of the day.

Sounds like a fun yet expensive trip. That's how we felt in Norway. A burger, fries, and drink were $45.00 Hope you enjoy the rest of the vacation.
I'm glad you are having a great time! I have to say that I did not get to the Gap while we were in Tokyo. We did eat at TGIF in the Roppongi district and we also surprised at how much a regular hamburger meal cost.
Gap - check. Sony - check. Super spendy American meals - check. Thanks for helping me update my Tokyo trip list!
It's an adventure with a 'price tag' but an adventure none the less, right? But the girls do look thrilled with their 'free' animal balloons!
We hope the rest of your trip is tons of fun!
We love the up dates so keep them coming when you get the chance!
Oh my gosh, I love the two accounts of the day's adventures!! So funny!! I'm with Amy, just going into the Gap would have made my day!!
