On June 27th we had Devon's Baptism at Toguchi Beach. As we went to bed the night before it was pouring down rain and thought that the baptism might have to move indoors to the baptismal font. As we woke up on Saturday, the skies were still cloudy and in fact as we were leaving for the beach it started to pour rain again. A few miles away however it wasn't too bad. We got there and it was just finishing up with a few sprinkles, so we decided it was a go at the beach.
We had a good turn out of some of Devon's friends as well as some family that made the trip. The setting was pretty cool. We all gathered around in a cave to keep us dry from the sprinkles of rain coming down. The tide was in so there was a lot of waves washing up on the shore. Grandpa Otis' talk almost got washed away with the tide! Anyway After Grandpa's talk Devon and I got into the water. As mention the tide was in so there was lots of waves. In fact I got halfway through the baptismal prayer and Devon and I got clobbered by a huge wave. It was so big that it was taller than me. Needless to say that freaked Devon out. As we got ready to do the prayer again, I had to time it so we weren't going to get slammed by a wave. Mission accomplished! All in all it was a great experience for the family.

What a great experience in such a beautiful setting!
I can't believe Devon is old enough to get baptized!? Crazy! I remember when he was just a little baby! He looks so cute! I wish we could have been there. I hate that we have to miss experiences like these. That's really cool that he was able to get baptized in the ocean!
