Our Plane Ride to Seattle

Back in November we took a family vacation back to the states. As we left Okinawa we had the opportunity to take a flight on a military cargo plane the C-17. It was a pretty big jet. Anyway as we got on board one of the pilots came down to Devon and asked if he wanted to sit up in the cockpit. I was quick to say "yes" and then proceed to take Devon towards the cockpit only to get a very upset boy. I thought to myself what could possibly be the issue. Come to find out he had no desire to sit up there. I was hoping that it was because he knows what jet is the best one, but no it was because he was scared. Well after talking him in and partly carrying him up the stairs I plopped his butt into the sit right behind the pilot and quickly belted his butt in. Well after we taxi'd and took off he thought that was the coolest thing in the entire world and then didn't want to leave the cockpit for the entire flight. The girls also wanted in on the act so, I escorted each of them up there to get their photos taken. Needless to say it was a pretty cool experience for each of them seeing as they will never get that chance in my jet.

Ray getting help from our neighbor.

Waiting for takeoff.

Kymbal had to have earplugs taped to her head in order for them to stay in.

The boys chilling.

The older couple came prepared. They brough sleeping bags and mats and laid down on the floor after we took off. If we only knew.

Makenley getting a good view from the cockpit.

Ray ensuring the pilots were on course to Seattle.

Devon making some radio calls as we were somewhere over the Pacific where no one could hear.
