This past weekend, Amy, Corey and the 4 kids packed up the remaining stuff the movers didn't get and got on board a plane to leave beautiful Okinawa for the last time. We leave behind several close friends and will miss them dearly as we head back to the states. At least most of the Otis clan. For those that aren't in the know, Valrico Florida will be home for the next year, as Amy and the kids have found a nice home in that area of Tampa. Corey will be continuing his travels to take him to Turkey for the next year.
This trip started out early Sunday morning with lugging 15 plus bags to the airport (so much for traveling light). Things were going pretty good for such a big move. The airport check-in went pretty smooth as well. We got on the flight and still things were going fairly smooth, until we got to Tokyo. Amy realized that we were missing a carry on bag. Once we put our brains together we figured out it never made it past the security checkpoint in Okinawa. So we left a bag back in Okinawa with no name tags on it in the middle of the airport! We tried several phone calls to the airport which ended up with no results from the search that ensued. After about a day of looking, I guess they found the suitcase. Strange how they never announced a lost bag or even a suspicious bag was in the airport while we were there. Anyway one of our friend back in Okinawa has the bag and it will somehow make it's way back to us.
Currently we are enjoying some time in Hawai'i. I'll post pictures later. Today we plan on seeing some of the sights on the North Shore.
