Hiji Falls Hike

Crossing the bridge.

Makenley with her drink she hiked up to the falls.

Hiji Falls.

Last Saturday Amy and I decided to take the kids up to a place on the North part of the Island called Hiji Falls. The weather was warm and rainy but we took a chance and hoping that the north part of the island wasn't getting the same weather we were getting down here at Kadena. Well it wasn't too bad and when it did rain we were covered by the trees for most of the hike. The hike was about a mile there and a mile back but there was a lot of stair climbing. The kids were good to go on the way there but on the hike back they started to complain about their legs being too tired. Stairs will do that. Anyway, it was kind of a downer when we got to the falls because they blocked off the ability to put your feet in the water to cool down once you reach the top. We found a place in the stream, however on the hike back to let the kids play around in. All in all it was a fun time and the kids seemed to enjoy themselves. Makenley even begged to take her backpack to carry everyones drinks. Of course she had no interest in carrying back to the car.
